Going downhill. Carts are old and rusty. Store is cramped. No real hot food option (quality and variety both declining). Seafood section smelled fishy (compared to 99 Ranch and Whole Foods). The upside is they stock fresh kumquat, that's a rare find. The prepared food section: They have only one pot of tofu stew believe it or not (it's the mainstay of Korean food). The place just looked sad and not well stocked. Not many snack options either.
H-Mart is our go-to for anything/all Asian ingredients. Even though it's quite a drive from our place we make it a point to shop there monthly. We can find produce you won't find at other grocery stores and meat also. They have a vast variety. Just wished they had one closer to us...
Fresh seafood cut/prepared to your liking. It was my first time buying seafood here, and was rerouted to the of end of the line - twice! Needless to say, the place can be chaotic but the fish was worth the wait. Definitely will visit again (also learned a lesson about finding a line here )
I've been to both this Hmart and the one up and Frederick and I prefer this one. It it bright and clean and has a great selection of culturally diverse foods. My daughter was mainly looking for different types of noodles and soup options and we were able to find many that matched her needs. But they also have a lot of great produce, take out food, frozen options, fresh fish, etc. Looking forward to going back and exploring more this store has to offer.
